Recycling Saves You Money Dollar Sign
Recycling gets you cash.
You can get money back for recycling beverage containers and used motor oil. Julindra Recycling is the buy back center for aluminum, glass and plastic beverage containers. Used motor oil is worth 16 cents per gallon at many locations throughout the County.
Recycling reduces your disposal costs.
Disposal costs money. By recycling, reusing and composting, you reduce the amount of garbage you have to pay to dispose or you will reduce the cost of disposal and recycling your garbage.

Earth Recycling is Good for the Earth
Recycling reduces our impact on the environment in crucial ways. Every time we rethink, reduce, reuse, and recycle, we reduce the impacts of mining, extracting, and processing. All recycled materials have a lower overall environmental impact than equivalent virgin materials. For example, it takes one gallon of used oil to produce the same amount of motor oil as 42 gallons of crude while using 1/3 the energy.

Its the Law
In 1989 the State of California passed a law requiring every City and County to reduce the amount of trash disposed by 50% by the year 2000. In Del Norte County, we are committed to strive towards Zero Waste well into the future.
